Strengthening Jamaica Through Diaspora Partnerships

The 11th Biennial Jamaica Diaspora Conference brought together leaders from government, business, and diaspora communities to explore how stronger global partnerships can support Jamaica’s long-term growth and resilience.

Held under the theme, "Diaspora Partnerships: Rebuilding a More Resilient Jamaica," the conference highlighted opportunities to drive investment, entrepreneurship, innovation, and knowledge-sharing across key sectors, including business, technology, healthcare, education, and infrastructure.

A key message throughout the event was that the Jamaican diaspora remains a powerful resource—not only through financial contributions, but also through expertise, mentorship, and international networks that can help accelerate national development.

The conference welcomed a distinguished lineup of leaders from government, business, and the diaspora, including:

  • Dr. the Most Hon. Andrew Holness, ON, PC, MP, Prime Minister of Jamaica

  • Sen. the Hon. Kamina Johnson Smith, JP, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade

  • Hon. Alando Terrelonge, JP, MP, Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade

  • Mr. Mark Golding, MP, Leader of the Opposition

As well as ministers, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and diaspora representatives from around the world. Their contributions reinforced the importance of collaboration, innovation, and investment in shaping Jamaica’s future.

As Jamaica continues to pursue sustainable economic growth, collaboration between local stakeholders and Jamaicans abroad will remain essential in building a stronger, more competitive future.

At Solvex, we are proud to be part of these conversations and to continue supporting initiatives that connect businesses, investors, and opportunities throughout the Caribbean.

The future is built when leaders, communities, and industries come together around a shared vision.
